Athletics South Africa have started a new system of giving recognition to SA top performing athletes. These athletes carry the title of “South African National Athletes”. There are 84 athletes in South Africa that have received this honour of having their own Personalized Licence number.
The qualifying criteria is to have represented South Africa at the Olympic Games in the last 8 years, and at the major World Athletic Championships.

Tanith was awarded for:
Olympic Games 2012
World Athletics Championship 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013 & 2015.
